So a 1985 Tercel Wagon 4x4 showed up in the local classifieds, $200, seller says it was in a little accident and needs new grill, headlight surrounds, and hood. And might need to pull out the frame a bit..

Are you going to get it looked at to see if the frame does need to, indeed, be straightened? Or did you have that done already? :)

They are still daily driving it so it can’t be that bad..

Mine cost 350, but it did not have a bent anything.... And in addition, stay away from cosmetic damage on those. Frustratingly uncommon in yards. I bought a donor car just on case. Wish I still had it... best car ever.

I bought an 85 Tercel new and drove it to 90k and sold it to my dad. When he died 2 years ago it had about 250k trouble free miles.

Buy it.

If you really hold out you can find one in better condition for not too much more... like 1-2k. I had to fix a few things on mine but the body was flawless, if you don’t count massive amounts of superficial rust as flaws.

Already had/sold an impreza GF rally-mobile.. But an interesting Tercel 4wd wagon would be the bees knees as a daily drive to work beater..

A friend in college had a green one.. they had a super steep rough driveway and it billy-goated up every time..
